Day 3 in Belgium

Aloha! I know its been like months since my last post and i feel really bad about it actually. It feels so weird for not updating my memories here and now all the memories i had is a bit blurry. Couldn't blog for months because my aunt came back from her backpack trip and decided to stay a bit longer here so she needs to borrow my laptop for some purposes and yes its the only laptop i use and have. Oh and did i mention that we have Wifi in the house now? Weepee and finally!! haha
Okay back to the subject where i left which is my trip on day 3 in Belgium, Brussel!

This day of the trip was kinda my fav day of the trip (place and food).Okay i don't really remember all the details but i remember all the fun. :)

Okay so it was early in the foggy morning we went to a small town where all the old churches are and that place is just beautiful! I don't remember the name of the place anymore but i'll just let the photos show me and you how beautiful the place is! The scene there was just absolutely breathtaking! It was almost christmas so the whole town was decorated in christmas decorations and not to mention real christmas trees (not those plastic ones we see here)!

this is the entrance of the church that we were going in. I forgot about the name but i do remember that Sam (the tour guide) told us it was one of the oldest and famous church here. Do you all notice there is an eagle and its nest on top of the doorway? I remember Sam saying something about it but i don't remember what was it hehe (okay i'm talking crap)
this was the very first church i've been in (yes i'm not christian)
I've got to admit it this was the most beautiful church i have ever seen with my own eyes
there was a session going on when we went in but then it ended like 5 minutes after we all stand inside there quietly. The place was constantly filled with music played by the organ and it makes the place so special especially the coloured glass windows. The windows was what makes me feel the place so beautiful. There was also this corner where there's a sealed glass box and within it is a tube containing a piece of cloth with a drop of Jesus's blood (which they said). My mom went to see it and donated some money on the way out and she says it was like a drop of brown dried blood which some fungus on the cloth there. (i din't went to see it)

Lunch was just absolutely deeeeelicioouussss!!!!
This was also one of my fav lunch i had during the trip! The place was just right outside beside the church we went in and was decorated very nicely with christmas decorations (christmas was near) which makes it so much nicer to dine in. So you are not going to believe what we had for lunch that day!
Appetiser! Bowl of YUMMAAAY spinach soup!
yeaap spinach soup, my very first time and i thought it would taste horrible like the way it looks too but it tastes just absolutely gorgoues! yumyum
Okay now this is the star of the day's lunch. A BIG POT OF MUSSELS COOKED IN WHITE WINE!!!!!!! and yes, a pot PER PERSON.
it was one huge pot (the exact size we use to fast cook maggie) and it was full of this big fat mussels in white wine. The mussels are absolutely the best i ever had! Big juicy sweet and fresh, totally not what you can find in Malaysia. And its one big pot per serving! Sam was afraid that some of us may not like the mussels especially the elderly so he called the restaurant and changed per table half half of fish and mussels. So we have 2 pots of mussels and 2 dishes of fish.
look at all those big fat mussels!! *drooling again
yeaah typical me hehe
honestly the fish was not nice at all especially compared to the one we had at Amsterdam.
The coating was too thick and the fish taste sticky and sloppy. ugh
Desert! Cold raspberry and vanilla ice-cream in a freezing weather.
Exciting.

there where the white pillars are is a skating real. First real skating ring outside i've ever seen.

and of course Belgium was famous for chocolate. There were many different chocolate shops and all of them smells like heaven when we went in. They made like different kinds of chocolates and not to mention shapes and size! This was one that attracts some attention.

Next stop, Belgium's famous spot a.k.a their landmark is the Atom. (if i remember correctly)
For a science student i recognize this as it really looks like an atom (chemistry hehe) and apparently its the landmark of belgium, just like the Eiffel tower is for Paris, France. We can actually go up as those balls are like for sight seeing and there's escalators up but we din't go up, we just took pictures from far and it was FREEAKING COLD then so quickly snap some photos and get the hell outta there.

*notice their national flag up there?
could barely smile normally, soooooooo cold

And then it was getting dark real fast even though it was like 5pm only, so we went to the Brussel town  for our next destination!

the famous Tin Tin wall
(i only knew it from watching one of the episodes from The Amazing Race haha)
and this was the main point we went to Brussel town, the landmark for Brussel,
Manneken pis,
it has a story/legend with it that Sam told us, saying that it was a boy last time that had pee on some explosives accidently during war (or something like that) and had saved the whole village, that's how this little boy became a hero and became a legend there.

the middle of the town, i don't remember what the place is called but i do remember it was absolutely beautiful. The buildings there all so beautiful and there were music played along as different colours of lights flash on the buildings according to the tempo of the music. And in the middle was a hugely tall decorated real christmas tree with the moon so round and brightly and so many people there wrapped in there coats walking and enjoying the view too. It was just breathtaking.

videos i took from the beautiful scene
Dinner was also SUPERB NICE!!! The best so far from the trip!! Especially when the weather was so cold outside!!
Appetiser : Deep Fried cheese
yeapp those two are deep fried cheese and for me it was just perfect!! Crispy outside but hot melting cheese in the inside. YUUMMMMM
i finished both of them but others including my family din't finish it as they find it very filling
well i'm a cheese lover. hehe
Main course : Pork Chop
it is just yummaaayyyyyy
desert : chocolate mouse cake
absolutely deliiiicious!!

and last stop, Sam told us it was Manneken pis girlfriend but i think he's just saying it only hmm..
soo this is Jeanneken pis
not so famous but still
Sam said it wasn't gated until few years back there were stupid people doing stupid things around the place and taking stupid photos with it too (if you know what i mean)

And that was all for that day, absolutely happy and feeling great! It was one of my favourite day of the trip!! Brussel was really nice and i look forward to go there again on my own. hehe

Nights everyone. :)
